Hassle-Free Checking
A low-cost account with no minimum balance to open. A monthly fee of $8.00 applies to this account, but is waived if any one of the following are met:
- Maintain an average monthly balance of $500.00.
- If the owner of the account is under the age of 18. The minimum age to open this account is 14. A parent or legal guardian is required as a joint account holder on an account for anyone ages 14-17.
- If the owner of the account is 60 years of age or older.
- Maintain a current mortgage or home equity line of credit with Wallkill Valley Federal Savings and Loan in good standing.

Our Wallkill Valley BankOn Checking account is certified by Bank On National Account Standards. Bank On, led by national nonprofit organization the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund (CFEFund.org), works to ensure that everyone has access to a safe, affordable transactional banking account. These standards designate accounts with low costs, high functionality, and consumer safety.
Hometown Hero
Our Hometown Hero Account offers active or retired Military, Police, Fire Department or Ambulance the convenience of a free checking account.* Additional features include 5 free foreign ATM transactions per month** , .25% discount on consumer loan rate when you use the automatic loan payment feature and 50% discount for a small safe deposit box.
- To obtain the disclosed annual percentage yield you only need to maintain a minimum balance of $1000.
* Proof of active service or retirement required.
