In recognition of the
year-long celebration of its 100th Year Anniversary, Wallkill Valley
Federal Savings and Loan Association has been inviting its customers to
participate in their “Year of Giving.” Customers are asked to write a letter
nominating their favorite charity or not-for-profit organization to receive a
special donation from the Bank. Hospice, Inc., which serves the terminally ill
throughout Ulster and Dutchess counties, was the first not-for-profit to have
been chosen by the Bank to be so honored.
Bank President and Chief
Executive Officer Michael Horodyski, was joined by Rose Scala, VP of Operations
on March 7 to present a check for $1,500.00 to Hospice Foundation Executive
Director Michael Murphy at bank headquarters in Wallkill.
Upon receiving the check
Murphy stated how honored he and the entire staff at Hospice, Inc. were in
receiving the donation.
“We are honored to have
been chosen by the Bank to be the first recipient of their “Year of Giving”
campaign. We understand that there were two customers who had written
heart-felt and compelling letters nominating Hospice to be considered. I want
to thank them, as well as the administration at the Bank
for their very generous gift. I also want to congratulate Wallkill Valley
Savings and Loan for their 100 years of service to the community and wish them
one hundred more years of success,” said Murphy.
